The Children’s Rights Impact Assessment (CRIA) was developed at the behest of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). It is meant to be an instrument that ensures the best possible evaluation of any digital service in terms of children’s rights and welfare. With this tool, risks of violations of children’s rights are mapped out. Its main purpose is to help facilitate discussions on the impact of digital services to children’s rights. While the assessment can also serve as an accountability tool, the main focus is on raising awareness from the dialogues that ensue during the CRIA process.
Manual
The CRIA consists of a fillable form and a manual. The fillable form is used to record responses to the assessment questions. The accompanying manual provides all the necessary background information to answer these questions effectively.
