On 7 May 2024, an Inter-Administrative Consultation on Life Events was held. It was attended by 15 administrators from various implementing organisations. State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen and Director-General for Digitalisation and Government Organisation, Eva Heijblom, also participated. The focus was on the life event ‘I have become a surviving relative’, where they examined solutions for both the short and slightly longer term.
People have numerous matters to take care of during life events such as birth, moving, or death. The Life Events programme ensures that information and services related to these events better meet people’s needs.
Concrete solutions
Together with State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen and Director-General Eva Heijblom, the administrators took significant steps within the Inter-Administrative Consultation on Life Events. They formulated concrete solutions for the life event ‘I have become a surviving relative’, such as registering a contact person once only. In addition, the pause button for administrative procedures for entrepreneurs and citizens will be further developed. These and other solutions assist survivors during a difficult period following the death of a loved one.
Programme acceleration
The implementing organisations agreed to commit resources and personnel, accelerating the programme. Eva Heijblom endorsed the outcomes of this meeting and expressed satisfaction with the acceleration.
Single government vision
The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) works from a single government vision on the (digital) service delivery to governments, citizens, and businesses. This enables governmental organisations to offer their services securely, accessibly, user-friendly, and efficiently.
