Inclusion means not excluding anyone. The Dutch government aims to ensure that everyone can participate in the digital era.
Digital inclusion aims to ensure that everyone can participate in the digital society. This is crucial as an increasing number of services are offered digitally. However, not all individuals can access these services easily, whether due to limited resources, skills gaps, or disabilities. Consequently, some people miss out on opportunities and may fall further behind.
The Dutch government is dedicated to promoting digital inclusion by implementing policies that expand access to digital devices and the internet, provide support, and enhance digital skills. Additionally, it aims to improve the digital accessibility of websites and apps for people with disabilities. This effort involves collaboration with public, social, and private partners, all working together through the Digital Society Alliance (Alliantie Digitaal Samenleven, Dutch).
