Vital digital government

Certain processes are so vital to Dutch society, that a stoppage or malfunction would lead to serious social disruption, and threaten national safety.

Vital infrastructure

Together, the vital processes constitute the Dutch vital infrastructure. Keeping the Dutch vital infrastructure’s security up to date and strong is crucial. Vital suppliers within the digital government sector will be obliged to notify, based on the Network and information systems security Act (Wet beveiliging netwerk- en informatiesystemen, Wbni). A notification will lead to a higher priority and engagement of the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC).
