The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) issued the 2024 Quality Information Report on the System of Base Registries today. The report provides an overview of data quality in the base registries. This data will be mandatory and widely used by government organisations.
High degree of accuracy and coverage
The report shows that the quality of data is very high in most cases:
- Processing of data supplied to the Trade Register (Handelsregister) is 99.9% accurate
- Income data is more than 99.98% complete and correct
- For the Personal Records Database (BRP), 97.4% of address registrations correspond to reality
- The TOP10NL topographical database achieves a quality level of 96.3%
This annual measurement of the quality of links was conducted by Statistics Netherlands (CBS), in collaboration with various registries, ICTU, and BZK. The results show that the similarities between linked data are often high. This outcome is comparable to previous measurements.
Insight into quality builds trust
The base registries contain essential data about individuals, companies, buildings and geography. This data will be mandatory for use in many government procedures. Therefore, the quality must be evident and trustworthy.
The new report outlines the applicable quality standards and clarifies the relationship between the desired and actual quality.
Transparency and improvement
With this overview, BZK provides transparency about the data. In doing so, the ministry contributes to trust in the System of Base Registries. The report provides a foundation for further improvements and is issued annually.
