CyberForward 2026: strengthening Europe’s digital resilience

Digital Autonomy 29 May 2026

How Europe can strengthen its digital resilience in an increasingly uncertain digital landscape will be the focus of CyberForward 2026 on 17 June 2026. Bringing together experts from government, industry, academia and the cybersecurity sector, the event will examine the growing importance of digital autonomy as governments and public-sector organisations accelerate digital transformation amid geopolitical uncertainty, rising cyber threats and expanding digital dependencies.

CyberForward is an event organised by the Netherlands Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NCC-NL) in collaboration with Cyberveilig Nederland (Dutch), FME, INTERSCT and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK). The event focuses on the practical implications of digital sovereignty and cybersecurity for organisations operating in both the public and private sectors.

For whom?

The programme addresses themes highly relevant to CISOs, CTOs, CIOs, cybersecurity experts, public-sector procurement professionals, deep-tech start-ups, and academic institutions, among others. For these professionals in digital government, CyberForward offers an opportunity to exchange knowledge, build partnerships and gain insights into the collaborative approaches shaping Europe’s digital future. Additionally, participants can explore national and European funding opportunities through a dedicated session and via the NCC-NL Funding Desk.

Programme

The CyberForward programme reflects a growing recognition that cybersecurity is no longer a standalone technical discipline. Instead, it has become a strategic concern that shapes policy development, public service delivery, procurement decisions, and digital innovation. The discussions will therefore examine vulnerabilities across European and Dutch technology value chains. They will also address the role of critical technologies in strengthening cyber resilience and the implementation of emerging cybersecurity legislation, including the Cyber Resilience Act. Particular attention will be paid to secure-by-design principles and supply chain security. The discussions will also emphasise managing cyber risks across increasingly interconnected digital ecosystems.

Speakers

The event will feature keynote contributions from leading experts. These include Dr Haroon Sheikh, Professor at VU University Amsterdam; Rogier Fischer, Co-Founder and CEO of Hadrian; and Sebastiano Tofaletti, Secretary General of the European DIGITAL SME Alliance, among others. It will also include interactive breakout sessions focused on practical challenges and emerging opportunities.
