This week, the 2025 Dutch Privacy Awards were presented at Privacy First and ECP’s National Privacy Conference. Watchful won the Awareness category, while the City of Rotterdam, along with Roseman Labs, took home first prize in the Application category. The National Academy for Digitalisation and Computerisation of Government (Rijksacademie voor Digitalisering en Informatisering Overheid, abbreviated RADIO) won the Incentive Award.
The 2025 winners
- PrivacyDetect by Watchful is a software application that can scan through all sorts of (company) records for any excessive personal data it might contain. Examples of excessive personal data include duplicate storage or personal information that is kept beyond its retention period.
- The City of Rotterdam is committed to reducing developmental delays among 2 and 3 year old toddlers. By using Roseman Labs‘ encryption technology, they can securely link and analyze nurseries’ data sets without access to raw data, thereby safeguarding toddler’s privacy.
- The National Academy of Digitalisation and Computerisation of Government (RADIO) targets managers through Privacy Aware Leadership. This means that managers can learn about privacy on the job and take well-informed actions, without having to delve into any theory.
About the awards
The Dutch Privacy Awards provide a platform to organisations that embrace privacy as an opportunity to positively distinguish themselves and make privacy-friendly business and innovation the norm. The Awards are presented each year by Privacy First on on 28 of January, European Privacy Day.
