The National Archives is updating its 2018 Guideline on Archiving Government Websites, and contributions are welcome. From 18 May to 5 June 2026, you can take part in a public review to share best practice insights and experiences.
While the core requirements for website archiving remain unchanged, the format is evolving. The new version will feature web pages (rather than PDFs) organised into modules, including an additional module on the preconditions for effective website archiving.
The Guideline on Archiving Government Websites helps organisations establish their website archiving processes, ensuring that specific information remains accessible in the future.
How to contribute
To review the modules, visit the Knowledge Community for Information and Archives (KIA) website (Dutch). Following the review period, KIA will share how the feedback has been addressed.
