How the NDS Cloud priority is seeking collaboration

Cloud 3 April 2026

The NDS Cloud priority is progressing with various partners. This includes opening dialogues with market parties, discussing design and architecture, and requesting clarification on procurement needs.

Open dialogues

In November and December 2025 and January 2026, 3 Open Dialogue sessions took place. The NDS Cloud team, led by Ron Kolkman, Chair of the Acceleration Team, engaged with 69 market parties. The aim was to gather market insights and explore potential collaboration opportunities. More details are available in this previous article on the NDS Cloud Open Dialogue Report.

‘Pressure Cooker’ session

On 9 March, the first ‘Pressure Cooker’ session took place. The aim was to make progress toward a robust design and architecture for a sovereign, government-wide cloud service in the Netherlands. Various government organisations participated in brainstorming sessions. Following this successful session, further discussions with other government bodies and partners will take place.

Cloud services need inventory

Furthermore, as part of the Cloud priority, an inventory of cloud service requirements has been started. The NDS Cloud team created a template and shared it with their members through the Dutch Water Authorities (Unie van Waterschappen). This will improve the clarity of demand and will be further distributed later.

The NDS Cloud priority is making strides, engaging with various stakeholders through open dialogues, design discussions, and efforts to clarify procurement needs.
