The fundamental principle is that individual government organisations are and remain responsible for their own cybersecurity. Several measures focus on maintaining and improving the cybersecurity of government organisations and promoting government-wide cooperation.
BIO (Government Information Security Baseline)
A key measure is the development of a single baseline framework for information security across all government layers (national, municipal, provincial, and water authorities): the Government Information Security Baseline (BIO). Government organisations interpret these guidelines within their own ICT operations and are accountable for them.
ENSIA (Uniform Single Information Audit Standard)
Municipalities efficiently report on information security all at once through ENSIA. In 2020, ENSIA was further developed to prepare the accountability system for the implementation of the Baseline Information Security Government (BIO), replacing the BIG. From 2020, municipalities report based on the BIO.
