Strengthening the Digital Society in the Dutch Caribbean
The program Strengthening the Digital Society in the Dutch Caribbean (track 5 of the Values-Driven Digitalisation Work Agenda) owes its nomination mainly to the high score on complexity/risks.
The digital society in Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (Dutch Caribbean) is being strengthened. The program will first bring the basics in order. This will enable residents and entrepreneurs in the Dutch Caribbean to utilize better government services. Setting up proactive services is one of the spearheads to improve the digital society. This gives residents and entrepreneurs the choice to determine how they want to use the services, online or in person. Additionally, the program focuses on creating a digital transition in social sectors and aims for cooperation with Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Startup in Residence Intergov
The Startup in Residence Intergov program scored high on complexity/risk and added value.
In the Startup in Residence Intergov program, policymakers and officials can submit a problem, called a challenge. This challenge is validated and circulated in startup communities. After a thorough screening, the chosen startup starts working on this challenge in cooperation with the government. Selected startups receive full coaching. Over 5 months, they work collectively on a solution. After completion of the solution, interested parties can choose to continue developing or buying the product. The design of this program makes this procurement process run seamlessly.
