
The government places citizens and entrepreneurs at the heart of digital services. Under the Netherlands’ Digitalisation Strategy (NDS), it is accelerating progress by collaborating with other government bodies, implementing organisations, and societal partners. What do these efforts achieve? Here’s an overview of key initiatives.
Proactive Service Delivery
On 9 September 2025, the ‘Proactive Service Delivery Hackathon’ took place. 90 participants contributed their input to shape the vision for proactive service delivery. This vision will be finalised by the end of 2025, with administrative decision-making expected in early 2026. Throughout 2026, government-wide efforts will begin to implement the outcomes of this vision process.
Vision for signal management
At the end of November 2025, the adopted a government-wide vision for signal management (a citizen feedback system). Over the past months, an intergovernmental project team, led by the , worked intensively to develop this vision. It was created using an , with input from during the process. Additionally, an intergovernmental sounding board group of directors contributed to shaping the vision. The OOPD also approved a plan to create a roadmap with experiments in early 2026, translating the vision into practice.

Redesigning chain processes
The Life Events Programme (Aanpak Levensgebeurtenissen in Dutch) is collaborating with other government bodies to revise . The aim is to improve these processes, particularly where . The processes under review are:

Collaboration and next steps
The Public Services Department of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) is working on (Prioritising citizens and entrepreneurs in service delivery). Initiatives are already underway across all . During a working session, the acceleration team collectively further developed these accelerators. Each team member acts as an ‘ambassador’ for one of the accelerators.
