The need and urgency to accelerate collectively as 1 government in the digital world is widely recognised. The current geopolitical situation demands that we take accelerated action on this. As such, the implementation of the Netherlands’ Digitalisation Strategy will begin immediately with the following steps:
- Launch the accelerators identified for each priority.
- Further develop the position of the Government Steering Committee on Digitalisation and the Netherlands’ Digitalisation Strategy Council.
- Establish a Netherlands’ Digitalisation Strategy implementation programme prioritising implementation and involving intensive cooperation in the execution of the projects.
- Where appropriate, priorities and interventions will be further developed in line with existing digital strategies.
- In parallel, we will work on the investment agenda for the Netherlands’ Digitalisation Strategy. Until its completion, efforts will be funded from existing budgets. Existing budgets related to priorities can be focused on the Netherlands’ Digitalisation Strategy.
Prioritising citizens and entrepreneurs will require cooperation with public service providers. We must accelerate together under coordinated leadership. This joint approach will lay the foundation for one digital government that does what is necessary, both for the Netherlands and the major challenges we face.
